Not every tired dining room needs new furniture. If the frames of booths and banquettes are sound, reupholstering them can transform a room for less than replacement. If the structure has failed — joints loose, bases cracked — a rebuild is the better spend. We look at what you have and tell you honestly which pieces are worth saving.
Phasing a refurbishment
A restaurant that stays open during a refresh can rarely lose its whole dining room at once. Seating and tables can be replaced in phases, a section at a time, so service continues. We plan the order with you so each phase is complete and looks finished on its own.
Matching what you keep
When some furniture is kept and some replaced, the new pieces have to sit with the old. That means matching timber, stain, upholstery and profile closely enough that the room reads as one. We take samples from the existing furniture and match to them.
Booths that take the abuse of a busy room
Booths are the hardest-working furniture in many dining rooms: guests slide in and out all night, kneel on seats and lean back hard. That wear lands on the front edge of the seat, the top of the back and the joint between them. We build booth frames to resist racking, put durable upholstery and edge protection where the wear is, and make seat and back cushions removable, so a torn section can be replaced without rebuilding the booth or closing that part of the room.
Ordering for an opening
For a new opening, furniture usually sits on the critical path alongside the fit-out. The sequence that works is to agree the layout and seat count, approve finishes and upholstery on samples, sign off the shop drawings and then build. Upholstery fabric that has to be ordered in is the item most likely to hold things up, so choosing it early protects the opening date. We give you a clear list of what has to be decided, and by when, at the start.
