Consistency across locations
For a group with several venues, every location should match. That needs a master sample for each finish and fabric, and a written specification for each piece, so a reorder months later is built to the same standard. We keep those records so repeat items match.
Reorders and replacements
Hospitality furniture gets damaged and a venue may need one more chair or a replacement table top quickly. Because each piece is built to a recorded specification, replacements can be made to match the originals.
Prototypes before a production run
For a large order, such as a hotel's guest-room chairs or a restaurant group's dining chairs, it pays to build and approve one prototype before the run. The prototype is sat in, tested against the table it will be used with, and checked for finish and comfort by the people who will sign off the whole order. Changes are cheap at that stage: a seat a little higher, a back a little more upright, a firmer seat. Once a run of a hundred is cut, the same change means a hundred corrections, so we recommend a prototype on any repeated item where comfort or fit is critical.
Specifying for contract use
Contract furniture is specified differently from residential. Upholstery is chosen by abrasion rating and cleanability, frames by the load and abuse they will see, and finishes by the cleaning products the venue uses every night. Many projects also carry flammability requirements for upholstered seating, set by the jurisdiction or the operator, which have to be confirmed at specification because they decide the materials. Bring us the project specification and we build to it rather than to a showroom sample.
